From the front cover questionnaires that I handed out to people in my target audience I found that most people would pay a maximum of £3.49 for the music magazine with the exception of a couple who said £3.99. The names of the magazine the audience like the most were;
- SongBird (with a small image of a bird on the end)
- Song (with the 'o' as a music note)
- Tune (with the 'n' as a double music note)
- Thounds
The audience's favourite tag line was voted as 'Stuff that matters' or 'Essentially for females'
Readers would not like to see too many advertisements and would want to see more content instead, and they would want the colour scheme to have pink, blue, black and white.
Some people chose that they would want music orientated jobs to be advertised on the front cover which is an idea which I had never thought of. Most people decided that they wanted a female as the main image on the front cover and for them to be making eye contact. On the front cover it is suggested by many that the sell lines should say what is inside and be about the latest music. The location of the image was chosen to be in a studio style, with a white background, with headphones or instruments as the prop.
From the contents page and double page spread questionnaire that I handed out I found that most people wanted the colour scheme to be consistent throughout all three pages and the same as the front cover colour scheme. My audience decided they want the language in the magazine to be girly and humorous and everyone who filled out the questionnaire would like to see 'The ultimate guide to how to survive at festivals' on the double page spread so I am going to make this a big part of the magazine. The readers would like the image to be in the middle of the double page spread with the text down either side. On the contents page people would like to see; a free voucher, lots of images, a short summary with each title and page number and an upcoming events list. A busy effect with lots of overlapping would interest a large percentage of my audience.
